A Spiritual and Cultural Home in Olympia, Washington

The Olympia Hindu Temple and Cultural Center (OHTCC) is a vibrant hub where the community comes together to worship, celebrate, and deepen their understanding of Hindu traditions. It is a sanctuary of devotion, peace, and spiritual growth, welcoming people of all ages and backgrounds to experience the richness of Hindu culture.

Opened on August 29, 2024, in Olympia Washington State, OHTCC has quickly become a center for prayer, festivals, and cultural enrichment. As an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN: 84-4484205), the temple is committed to serving the community through religious, educational, and charitable initiatives.

The temple actively encourages service, volunteerism, and community outreach, helping devotees put the principles of Hinduism — love, compassion, and selfless service — into practice. Whether you come to pray, learn, participate in cultural events, or simply experience the warmth of the community, OHTCC offers a welcoming environment for spiritual and personal growth.

OHTCC is more than a temple; it is a home for devotion, learning, and togetherness — a place where the timeless teachings of Hinduism guide and inspire everyday life, bringing joy, harmony, and purpose to all who visit.

OHTCC's Mission is to give people a warm, welcoming temple where they can pray, take part in rituals, and learn about Hindu spiritual teachings. The temple aims to provide a steady place for families and individuals to connect with God, follow the guidance of India's great saints, and grow in faith and good values together as a community.

OHTCC's Vision is to build a larger, permanent temple in the Olympia area that serves as a vibrant spiritual and cultural center. With a full-time priest, the temple will offer daily poojas, regular worship, festivals, and community activities. This space will help families practice their faith, allow children to learn prayers, values, and culture, and ensure Hindu traditions are preserved and passed on to future generations.

OHTCC was founded through the collective efforts of devoted community members with a shared dream of establishing a Hindu temple in the Olympia region. What began as small gatherings for prayer and festivals has grown into a dedicated temple and cultural center serving families across generations.

OHTCC follows traditional practices and conducts regular pujas, abhishekams, and special rituals. The temple celebrates major Hindu festivals including Maha Shivaratri, Navaratri, Diwali, Ugadi, Janmashtami, Sankranti, and other sacred occasions.

OHTCC is blessed to be supported by dedicated volunteer priests who selflessly offer their time, knowledge, and spiritual guidance to the community. These priests perform temple rituals, pujas, and special ceremonies in accordance with traditional Vedic practices.

Their voluntary service reflects the spirit of Seva (selfless service) and devotion, helping ensure that religious observances and festivals are conducted with authenticity, discipline, and reverence.

OHTCC deeply appreciates the commitment and contributions of our volunteer priests, whose presence enriches the spiritual life of the temple and strengthens our community bonds.

The temple actively promotes cultural learning through its Balagokulam program — a vibrant youth initiative designed to instill Hindu values, traditions, and a sense of cultural identity in the next generation. Through storytelling, devotional music, games, and interactive activities, children connect with their heritage in a fun and nurturing environment.

Seva (selfless service) is at the heart of OHTCC. The temple encourages volunteerism, community outreach, food drives, and participation in fundraising initiatives. As part of this commitment, OHTCC volunteers regularly cook and serve meals at the Salvation Army on the third Saturday of every month, extending compassion and service to the wider community.

OHTCC is guided by a dedicated Temple Committee comprising selfless volunteers who oversee temple operations, events, finances, and long-term planning. Their commitment ensures transparency, integrity, and smooth functioning of the temple.
